Library

Brentwood Park Library runs a Flexible Access and Flexible Scheduling Program.
Our Guiding Principle is that the library program requires flexible and equitable access to information, ideas and resources for learning.

In a student-centered school library program, learning needs takes precedence over class schedules and grade levels, this means that the program’s resources and services must be available so that literacy and information needs can be addressed when they arise and when relevant to the student.

Flexible access means that the school community may use the library any time during the school day when the library is open. All students are encouraged to visit the library often to exchange books; students can leave the classroom individually, in groups, or as a class when they need to go to the library to get what they need. Teachers may also book both the library space and the Teacher-Librarian to work collaboratively.

Library Hours:

Monday-Friday : 9:00am-3:00pm
Thursday : 9:00am-12:00am

The library is open at lunch.

What We Value: Brentwood Park Library strives to provide freedom…

“But libraries are about freedom.  Freedom to read, freedom of ideas, freedom of communication.  They are about education (which is not a process that finishes the day we leave school or univeristy), about entertainment, about making safe spaces, and about access to information.”
